Press Release

The Village of Valemount has adopted a COVID-19 Vaccination policy which requires that all staff, employees, direct contractors and volunteer members of Council committees be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus by February 26, 2022. The policy takes effect December 15, 2021 and provides sufficient time for anyone who has not yet completed their immunization process.

Mayor and Council fully support this initiative. Mayor Torgerson stated that “it is Council’s duty to protect the health and welfare of its employees, its staff, Council members and the volunteers who work with Council and staff”. He noted that all members of Council have received their full vaccinations and that vaccination is an important consideration in fighting the onslaught of the COVID virus.
