The Strongest Town contest highlights towns and cities who are doing the hard work of becoming stronger, putting in place the processes, systems, and commitments that build enduring resilience and long-term prosperity. Valemount’s initial submission was judged by a panel of Strong Towns staff and board members who selected Valemount as the only Canadian municipality to be part of the top 16 contenders in this nation-wide contest.
The competition will kick off on Monday, March 20th, with the first round of votes ending on Thursday, March 23rd. Valemount will face off against Saranac Lake, New York. Voters from across the continent will decide on who will advance forward to the “Elite Eight” round vote.
