Chief Administrator Officer
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the overall manager of Village Administration and Operations. Being Council’s only Staff member, the CAO is the link between Village Council and Village Staff.

Director of Finance
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Finance provides financial administration and supervision over the finance division for the Village of Valemount. This includes legal advice and proceedings, awarding tenders, human resources, and general administration.

Deputy Director of Finance
The Deputy Director of Finance is responsible for payroll, human resources, supervision of the Administrative Services division for the Village of Valemount, health/safety plan, and financial tasks as delegated by the Director of Finance.

Finance Clerk
The Finance Clerk is responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts payables, procuring required goods and services, coordinating conferences and training for staff, payroll and staff benefits, as well as providing other financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization.

Finance Clerk II
The Finance Clerk II provides general accounting and finance support in the areas of accounts receivable, human resources, document tendering, independent agreements, municipal taxes, municipal software, Museum operations, and policy review, as well as providing other financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization.

Corporate Officer
The Corporate Officer (CO) is a statutory officer position as required under Section 148 of the Community Charter. The CO ensures the proper administration of all Council and related Committee business, including but not limited to Council Meeting Agendas and Minutes, various licensing and permitting processes, Cemetery Administration, Records Management and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Administration, keeping of bylaws and ensuring access to records as required by law. The CO administers oaths, affidavits and declarations under Acts relating to local governments, and receives all documents, correspondences and notices on behalf of the Village.

Corporate Services Clerk & Emergency Program Coordinator
The Corporate Services Clerk is involved in business licensing, cemetery administration, records and registries management, as well as generating draft Council and related committee agendas and minutes. The CSC creates promotional material and provides support in marketing, advertising and media relations.
The Emergency Program Coordinator is responsible for emergency management including planning, training, documentation and active emergency files and serves as the Emergency Operations Centre Deputy Director.

FireSmart Coordinator
The FireSmart Coordinator is responsible for acting as the main point of contact within the communities they serve and linking their local area to the provincial FireSmart Program. The FireSmart Coordinator coordinates public education and FireSmart activities, organizes Community Wildfire Preparedness Day, presents at community events such as farmer’s markets, local sporting events, school presentations, tradeshows, engages with the public and distributes FireSmart information.The FireSmart Coordinator focuses on neighbourhood and home assessments, as well as being the community FireSmart liaison.

Land Use Planner / Subdivision Approving Officer
The Land Use Planner is responsible for activities and inquiries related to land use, development, zoning, long term planning, parkland and trails within Valemount.

Building Inspector
The Building Inspector is responsible for issuing building permits and completing building inspections and fire /safety inspections.

Economic Development Officer
The Economic Development Officer acts as the municipality’s primary economic development contact and implements economic initiatives of the municipality. The Economic Development Officer’s role includes work at a strategic, operational and implementation level such as seeking funds, developing partnerships, creating and implementing plans, and managing projects.

Bylaw Enforcement & Animal Control Officer
The Bylaw & Animal Control Officer provides investigation, adjudication, information and general enforcement of Village bylaws and animal control services.

Grant Writer Clerk
The Grant Writer Clerk is responsible for completing and submitting funding applications and completing grant reporting on behalf of the Village of Valemount, as well as offering grant writing services to the community. The Grant Writer Clerk oversees funding programs offered by the Village including the Columbia Basin Trust ReDi Grants Program, Business Façade Improvement Program, and Community Wood Smoke Reduction Program.

This internship program provides a high level of professional development and hands-on training that help prepare recent graduates with the skills, experience and connections they need to propel their career forward in the local and Indigenous government sector.

The Administrative Services Coordinator handles all front desk responsibilities including assisting residents with property tax or utility inquiries, general inquiries, processing payments, and facility bookings.

The Administrative Services Coordinator handles all front desk responsibilities including assisting residents with property tax or utility inquiries, general inquiries, processing payments, and facility bookings, creates public communications and promotional material, and provides support in marketing, advertising, and media relations.
Trevor Pelletier
Public Works Superintendent
The Public Works Superintendent provides expert professional assistance to the CAO in areas of expertise including engineering, municipal water, sewer collection, wastewater collection, street maintenance, building and landscape maintenance.
Other responsibilities include policy development, program planning, fiscal management, administration, and operational direction of the Village’s public works, water distribution, sewer and wastewater collection system and maintenance functions.
Public Works
The focus at Public Works is the provision of safe potable water, operation of the wastewater disposal system (sewer) and maintenance of roads and sidewalks. Other related responsibilities include garbage collection, cemetery maintenance (burials/headstone installations), and infrastructure maintenance (water and sewer systems, Village buildings and properties, street lighting and the airport). The Public Works team includes:

Museum
Valemount & Area Museum staff greet visitors seasonally from May long weekend until the end of September. They share the history of the Robson Valley during the last 120 years with local citizens and visitors from around the world.
