The Village of Valemount is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The Village of Valemount webpage is partially conformant with Level A. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Rick Hanson Foundation (RHF) – Accessibility Certifications
The Village participated in these assessments for the purpose of implementing the recommendations of the RHF Report to resolve issues around public accessibility for those with Physical Disabilities.
An update on progress will be provided as part of the Accessible British Columbia Act passed by the Province in September 2021.
