The Village of Valemount is updating its Development Cost Charges (DCCs)

DCCs are fees generally paid by developers when they are subdividing or obtain a permit for new commercial, industrial, institutional, or multiple unit residential buildings.

In Valemount, DCCs pay for the municipal-owned transportation, sewer and water infrastructure required to service future growth. The changes were last updated in 2018, and projects and costs have changed since then.

An Open House was held on August 18th to:

• See the proposed revisions to the DCCs;
• Gain a better understanding of who pays and when they pay;
• See how the proposed charges compare to neighbouring communities.
